Bias Incident Response Team

The Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) is a unique approach to addressing incidents of bias on campus. BIRT serves as the campus Title VI Committee and assists the Title VI Coordinator with review of investigations and other institutional processes. Its goal is to ensure that reporting mechanisms, resources, and support are easily accessible. BIRT also collaborates with campus departments to connect individuals who have witnessed or experienced bias with the available resources and support.

BIRT is comprised of representatives from several campus departments who also serve as subject matter experts on specific issues related to Title VI or alleged bias incidents.

For questions, contact the chair of BIRT, Ada Robinson-Perez, affirmative action officer and Title VI coordinator.
